Born with natural artistic gift, I was fortunate to meet some people in the sign trade. I knew that's what I wanted to do. I enrolled in three different colleges, not all at the same time! I graduated at the top of my class at the world renowned Sign Graphics given at Los Angeles Trade Technical College. My first jobs were done right out of my 1981 Toyota Pick-Up. My "Sign Kit" was a couple of shoe boxes. In Southern California, I worked the truck stops. From Zimmer's Truck Center in Whittier, Ca. to the big TA in Ontario, I worked on trucks from all over the country. It was a grand time!! In 1992 I fell in love and got married to a very wonderful man. One of my trucker customers told me " Bad news travels, I heard in Georgia that you're getting married". After living in Modesto, Ca for a few years, we moved to the Great Northwest. During all of this time, I still kept on making signs and lettering trucks. For the past 20 years, Tacoma, Wash has been my home. I have since sold my 1981 Toyota truck and my sign kit has grown into a 900 square foot shop complete with a 14 foot tall door. Even after 30 years of lettering trucks and making signs, I still get excited when I see a completed job. Years ago, all I needed was paint and lettering brushes. But now I have a state of the art computer system , plotter and a CNC router. My business is a great combination of old school Craftsman techniques fused with modern technology.
